Our Vision
We believe that participation in sports and physical activity across the lifespan is important. Sport-related injuries are both predictable and preventable and effective management and rehabilitation is essential to reducing subsequent risks.
Participation in sport and recreational activity has multiple psychological, developmental, and quality-of-life benefits for individuals. However, it is also associated with an increased risk of injury. The overarching goal of the I³ research program is to develop, implement, and evaluate strategies to keep people active via sport injury prevention and management as well as to develop policies that integrate evidence-informed solutions into public health initiatives to prevent injuries including sport-related concussions.
